Monarch Education is seeking a patient, supportive, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil with Autism at a friendly and inclusive primary school in the BS5 area. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
- Provide 1:1 support to a Y2 child with Autism
- Follow personalised support plans and implement tailored strategies
- Help the child engage with class tasks and access the curriculum
- Assist with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
- Create a calm, structured, and supportive environment for the child
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs (desirable but not essential)
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to adapt activities and respond to the child’s individual needs
- A proactive, compassionate, and reliable attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
