SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Year 4 – Brislington

Monarch Education is seeking a caring, proactive, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil at a welcoming primary school in the Brislington area. This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child’s learning, confidence, and wellbeing.
About the Role
- Work 1:1 with a Y4 child who requires additional support
- Assist with classroom learning, emotional regulation, and daily routines
- Follow individual education and support plans
- Adapt tasks and activities to ensure the child can fully access the curriculum
- Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and independence
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider staff team
- Help create a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children with additional needs or behavioural challenges (desirable)
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to adapt and respond calmly to changing needs
- A proactive, reliable, and compassionate attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
