SEND Secondary Teacher

Location: Birmingham

Pay: £100 – £210 a day

Monarch Education are honoured to work alongside a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities setting in the Birmingham area.

Requirements to apply:

  • Must have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A valid DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Monarch Education.
  • Experience with SEND children is highly beneficial

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students in the classroom
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the overall development and progress of students
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback and support to help students achieve their academic and personal goals

The following skills would be advantageous:

  • Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, special educational needs, and appropriate teaching strategies to support students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies in the best interest of the students
  • Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs and abilities of students in the classroom
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
