SEND Teaching Assistant Required in Aston

Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Aston, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils across the primary age range, providing both one-to-one and small group support to help them access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant
