Monarch Education are working closely with a dedicated and supportive SEND school located in Halesowen. The school are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, specifically those with autism. They are seeking a passionate and dedicated Autism SEND Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and differentiated lessons for students with autism, helping them to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and therapists to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with autism.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes independence and self-esteem.
  • Implement and monitor Individual Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including teaching assistants, therapists, and parents.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with autism in a similar setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A passion for supporting students with SEND to achieve their full potential.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – However, unqualified teachers with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience with a variety of teaching methodologies and resources for students with autism.
