Monarch Education are recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in Dudley. With this opportunity you have the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of the students. Although the job is Temporary, through Monarch Education to begin with, there is a chance that the role can be made permanent. The school are seeking an individual who is confident in communicating and interacting with young people and supporting them with their social, emotional, and mental health needs as well as their physical needs.

Job Description:

• Managing challenging behaviour
• Ability to manage behaviour and talk to parents and carers when needed.
• Taking an interest in and supporting the wellbeing of students both physically and mentally
• Plan and teach lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals (if necessary)
• Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating effectively with the class teacher and fellow Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Providing one-on-one and group support to students with MLD, Down Syndrome, ASC, and SEMH needs.
• Assisting with behaviour management, applying your skills to create a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Supporting students in developing essential life skills and independence as they transition to adulthood.

The Ideal Candidate/Qualifications:

• Will have previous experience as a teaching assistant or within a similar role.
• A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management skills and communication skills
• Ability to create a supportive learning environment with students who have diverse needs.
• Has a patient and empathetic approach whilst working with the children.

Your application will be subject to an enhanced child only DBS and two educational references, so it is essential that you have previous experience of working in an Education Setting.
