Monarch Education are working closely with SEND schools in the Telford area who are currently looking for teaching assistants. The school caters to students who struggle with complex needs and physical disabilities. The school provides care for EYFS up until Secondary meaning that as a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing the support and care necessary to foster the student’s overall development.

Job Description:

  • Assessing the needs of students and using your knowledge and specialist skills to support students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Taking an interest in and supporting the wellbeing of students both physically and mentally
  • Monitor progress daily, identify areas for improvement.
  • Building trusting relationships with students and prioritising their social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Plan and teach lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals (if necessary)

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children, young people or adults with SEND
  • Genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to create a nurturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to support students who are struggling.

Qualifications:

Experience in care or a degree in health and social is not required for this role, but it would be considered an asset. Candidates who have prior experience working with individuals who have complex needs and/or autism will be highly regarded.
