Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs? Monarch Education is proud to be working with a large, inclusive secondary school in Nailsea, seeking a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of students with a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, communication challenges, and behavioural difficulties.


๐ŸŒˆ What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

In the Classroom:

  • Work closely with teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom organisation
  • Help prepare resources and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Support behaviour management and promote positive engagement

Supporting Students:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, encouraging independence and confidence
  • Use strategies to help overcome learning barriers and promote emotional well-being
  • Foster positive social interactions and inclusive participation

Team Collaboration:

  • Work alongside teachers, the SENDCo, and other support staff
  • Share insights on student progress and well-being
  • Liaise with parents/carers when appropriate, under guidance

๐Ÿ‘ค Who Weโ€™re Looking For:

Weโ€™re seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting children with SEND, ideally in a secondary school setting
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to different learning needs
  • Skilled in communication and able to build strong relationships with students and staff
  • Familiar with non-verbal communication methods such as Makaton or BSL (desirable)
  • Resilient, proactive, and committed to making a difference every day

Qualifications:

  • A relevant TA qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential
  • Experience is key โ€“ especially with autism, ADHD, and communication needs
  • Training in SEND support or behaviour strategies is a bonus!
