Monarch Education are looking for a Specialised Support Assistant (SSA/LSA) to work within the Birmingham area with an immediate start, this role is located at a mainstream school. It’s a lovely, welcoming school who are looking to support their children and add strength to their team, it would be an ongoing role working with small groups and also working 1:1 with children identified needing extra support.

The ideal candidate for this role will help teachers by supervising activities and working with children on an individual, small-group or whole-class basis. Also, getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

The Candidate will need:

  • Experience of supporting key stage 3 & 4 students in an educational environment.
  • To support pupils across secondary during lessons.
  • Be committed to improving standards and raising pupil attainment.
  • Experience of working with children with special needs.
  • Able to establish constructive and positive relationships with your pupil’s.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising group activities.
  • Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy.
  • Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials.
  • Motivating and encouraging pupils.
  • Monitoring and recording children’s behaviour and progress.
