Specialised Support Assistant

Monarch Education is seeking a Specialised Support Assistant (SSA/LSA) to join a welcoming mainstream school in the Solihull area, with an immediate start. This is an ongoing role dedicated to supporting children with additional needs, working both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis alongside a great supportive team.

The school prides itself on its friendly environment and commitment to fostering a supportive learning space. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting teachers, supervising activities, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising small groups and individual activities to support pupils’ learning.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and tidying after lessons.
• Supporting the delivery of tailored learning programmes and adapting materials as needed.
• Motivating and encouraging pupils to reach their full potential.
• Monitoring and recording children’s behaviour, progress, and development.
• Helping to maintain a safe, clean, and positive classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience supporting Key Stage 3 & 4 students within an educational setting.
• Proven experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Strong commitment to raising standards and improving pupil attainment.
• Ability to build positive, constructive relationships with pupils.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting diverse learning needs.
