Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Dursley, and we are currently seeking a passionate and resilient Sports Coach to join their dedicated team.

About the Role:

As a Sports Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs through physical education and structured sports activities. You’ll be helping to build confidence, teamwork, and emotional regulation through sport, while also contributing to the wider pastoral care of the pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive sports sessions tailored to individual needs
  • Support students in developing physical skills, teamwork, and self-esteem
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Promote positive relationships and act as a role model for students
  • Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEMH or SEN setting
  • A background in sports coaching, PE teaching, or youth work
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Relevant coaching qualifications or equivalent experience
