Supply Art Teacher – Secondary School | March 2026 Start

Location: Bath
Contract: Supply / Full‑time (Monday-Friday)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

Are you a creative, enthusiastic Art teacher seeking a flexible role that supports your work-life balance? We are looking for dedicated Supply Art Teachers to work across secondary schools in Bath, with consistent demand for high‑quality Art cover. While Art specialists are especially encouraged to apply, we also welcome teachers from other subject areas who bring strong classroom practice and a passion for creativity.

Supply teaching offers the ideal opportunity to experience a range of settings, enhance your professional skills, and enjoy autonomy in your schedule-without the additional responsibilities tied to a permanent post. Many short‑term supply roles also develop into long‑term or permanent opportunities, offering both flexibility and future progression.

The school provides a warm, ambitious, and high‑achieving environment where students are encouraged to take pride in their learning and pursue their creative potential. It nurtures a culture where learners feel supported, motivated, and inspired to grow. With exceptional teaching, strong pastoral care, and a vibrant range of cultural, sporting, and extra‑curricular opportunities, the school equips students to thrive both academically and personally. A focus on aspiration, positive relationships, and student voice ensures that young people feel valued within a community that celebrates success and encourages artistic confidence.

Why This School?

  • A welcoming and inclusive community grounded in shared values
    * A culture of high expectations, mutual respect, and supportive relationships
    * Strong pastoral systems that prioritise wellbeing and personal growth
    * Leadership committed to staff development, training, and wellbeing
    * A creative, forward‑thinking school serving the wider Bath area

About the Role

As a Supply Art Teacher, you will deliver imaginative, engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4 students. You will bring strong subject knowledge, flexibility, and a passion for creative expression. You’ll establish positive routines quickly, maintain an organised and inspiring classroom environment, and encourage students to explore artistic techniques with confidence. Your contribution will support the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and a rich, ambitious curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and accessible Art lessons for KS3 and KS4 learners
    * Support students in developing skills in drawing, painting, mixed media, 3D work, digital art, and more
    * Work within school policies, schemes of work, and any provided lesson plans
    * Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating studio environment
    * Encourage experimentation, artistic independence, and creative thinking
    * Provide targeted support for students needing help with focus, confidence, or behaviour
    * Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community‑focused ethos
    * Promote a love of art, visual communication, and creative expression
