About the Role
As a Supply Art Teacher, you will deliver engaging, imaginative lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop practical techniques, creative thinking, and confidence in their artistic expression. You’ll bring flexibility, enthusiasm, and strong subject knowledge to a variety of classroom settings. You will establish positive routines quickly, maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment, and inspire students to enjoy Art while taking pride in their work. Your contribution will help uphold the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and a values‑driven, ambitious curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach creative and stimulating Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in developing practical skills in drawing, painting, 3D work, digital art, and more
- Follow school policies, schemes of work, and any provided lesson plans
- Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring classroom environment
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, confidence, and artistic independence
- Provide additional support for students needing help with focus, confidence, or behaviour
- Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive and community‑focused ethos
- Promote a love of Art, creativity, and strong visual communication skills
What We’re Looking For
- QTS or relevant secondary Art teaching experience
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and support students of all abilities
- A positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching
- Passion for creativity, visual arts, and helping students express themselves
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the school’s values
- Experience in secondary settings preferred; ECTs are welcome
