Location: Weston‑Super‑Mare
Contract: Full-Time Supply (Monday-Friday)
Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
Salary: £110 – £130 per day (DOE)

Working as a Cover Supervisor is a fantastic way to gain classroom experience without the pressures of planning or marking. About the Role

As a Supply Cover Supervisor, you will oversee pre-prepared lessons for KS3 and KS4 students across a variety of subjects. Your focus will be on managing the classroom, maintaining routines, and ensuring students stay on task. No subject specialism is required – what matters most is your confidence, communication, and ability to lead a classroom effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged
  • Deliver pre-set work following school policies and lesson instructions
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively and uphold school expectations
  • Support students who may need additional encouragement or guidance
  • Build strong, professional relationships with staff and pupils
  • Promote safeguarding, welfare, and consistent school values

  • Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work, mentoring, etc.)
  • Confident behaviour management and the ability to lead a classroom
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
