About the Role
As a Supply English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners. You will bring secure subject knowledge, adaptability, and a calm, professional manner to the classroom. Your teaching will develop students’ reading, writing, analytical thinking, and communication skills. You’ll establish positive routines quickly, foster purposeful learning, and inspire students to enjoy English and take pride in their progress. Your contribution will support the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and a broad, ambitious curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with KS3 and KS4 curriculum expectations
- Support students in developing strong literacy, analytical, and extended writing skills
- Work within school policies, departmental guidance, and provided lesson plans
- Maintain a positive, organised, and well‑managed classroom environment
- Encourage creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of English
- Provide targeted support for learners who need help with reading, confidence, or behaviour
- Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community‑focused ethos
- Promote high standards in independent reading, writing, and communication

- QTS or relevant experience teaching English at secondary level
- Strong classroom management and clear communication skills
