About the Role
As a Supply IT Teacher, you will deliver purposeful and engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop essential digital skills, programming knowledge, and confidence in using technology. You’ll bring adaptability, strong subject knowledge, and enthusiasm into each classroom, quickly establishing positive routines and maintaining a focused and supportive learning environment. Whether teaching coding, digital literacy, or computer systems, you’ll inspire students to enjoy IT, participate fully, and take pride in their progress. Your role will support the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and a values‑driven, ambitious curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality IT and Computer Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in developing digital literacy, programming, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
- Follow school policies, schemes of work, and provided lesson plans
- Maintain a safe, organised, and purposeful learning environment
- Encourage participation, confidence, and a positive attitude toward using technology
- Provide additional support to students who require help with focus, behaviour, or complex tasks
- Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community‑centred ethos
- Promote responsible technology use, creativity, and strong digital communication skills
What We’re Looking For
- QTS or relevant secondary IT/Computer Science teaching experience
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and support students across a range of abilities
- A proactive, adaptable, and positive teaching style
- Genuine passion for IT, computing, and helping young people develop digital confidence
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values
- Experience in secondary settings preferred; ECTs are welcome
