About the Role

As a Supply Music Teacher, you will deliver engaging, structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students build musical understanding, performance skills, and creative confidence. You’ll bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and strong subject knowledge into a variety of classroom settings. You will establish positive routines quickly, maintain a purposeful learning atmosphere, and inspire students to enjoy Music-whether through performing, composing, or listening. Your contribution will support the school’s dedication to high‑quality teaching and a values‑driven, ambitious curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and well‑planned Music lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students in developing performance, composition, and listening skills
  • Follow school policies, schemes of work, and provided lesson plans
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and creative learning environment
  • Encourage students to participate, explore ideas, and develop confidence in Music
  • Provide additional support to students needing help with focus, confidence, or behaviour
  • Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community‑driven ethos
  • Promote a love of music, creativity, and positive learning attitudes

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS or relevant secondary Music teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and support students of all abilities
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable teaching approach
  • Passion for Music, performance, creativity, and developing young musicians
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the school’s values
  • Experience in secondary education preferred; ECTs are welcome
