We are currently recruiting dedicated Supply PE Teachers to support secondary schools across Stroud, with regular cover needed in Physical Education – though teachers from all specialisms are welcome to apply. About the Role
As a Supply PE Teacher, you will deliver purposeful and engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop physical skills, fitness, teamwork, and confidence. You’ll bring energy, adaptability, and strong subject knowledge into each class, quickly establishing positive routines and maintaining a structured, supportive learning atmosphere. Whether teaching practical lessons or theory‑based content, you’ll inspire students to enjoy PE, participate actively, and take pride in their personal progress. Your contribution will support the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and a values‑driven, ambitious curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach high‑quality PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in developing physical fitness, teamwork, resilience, and practical skills
- Follow school policies, schemes of work, and provided lesson plans
- Maintain a safe, organised, and energetic learning environment
- Encourage participation, confidence, and a positive attitude towards physical activity
- Provide additional support to students who need help with behaviour, focus, or engagement
- Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive, community‑centred ethos
- Promote healthy lifestyles, wellbeing, and positive sporting attitudes
What We’re Looking For
- QTS or relevant secondary PE teaching experience
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities
- A proactive, energetic, and adaptable teaching style
- Genuine passion for PE, sport, and developing confident young people
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values
- Experience in secondary settings preferred; ECTs are welcome
