The Opportunity:

We are actively seeking an experienced Primary Class Teacher to join this dedicated team in Coventry on a fixed-term contract for one year, commencing in September 2025. This is an opportunity to utilise your expertise in primary education to contribute to the academic progress and overall well-being of pupils requiring targeted support.

Job Description:

As a Primary Class Teacher within this academy in Coventry, for the duration of the fixed term contract commencing in September 2025, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a Tailored Curriculum: Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons for a cohort of learners across Years 5 to 8. The curriculum is specifically designed to be delivered at a Key Stage 1/2 level, requiring a strong understanding of the learning objectives and pedagogical approaches relevant to these stages.
  • Pupil Progress and Assessment: Monitoring and assessing pupil progress against individual learning goals and the adapted curriculum framework. Utilising a range of assessment strategies to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback.
  • Creating a Supportive Learning Environment: Establishing and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes pupil engagement, confidence, and a love of learning.
  • Individualised Support: Identifying and addressing the specific learning needs of each pupil, implementing appropriate interventions and support strategies to facilitate their academic growth.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working collaboratively with colleagues, including support staff, the leadership team, and external professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to pupil development. Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding pupil progress and well-being.
  • Pastoral Care: Providing pastoral support and guidance to pupils, fostering their social and emotional development.
  • Resource Management: Effectively utilising and managing classroom resources to support learning.
  • Professional Development: Actively participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay abreast of best practices in supporting learners working below age-related expectations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience as a Primary Class Teacher is required.
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 curriculum and pedagogical approaches is crucial.
  • Experience working with pupils who are working below age-related expectations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to supporting the learning and development of young people.
