Cover Supervisor – Secondary – Birmingham

Monarch Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, support students, and contribute to the school community without the responsibility of planning or marking.


About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising lessons during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will ensure that pupils remain on task with the work set by the teacher and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment
  • Provide support and guidance to students as needed
  • Report back to the teacher or department on pupil progress and behaviour

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people (e.g. in education, youth work, coaching, or similar)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence to lead a class and follow school policies
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
