Long-Term KS1 Teacher Needed at a Supportive Chesterfield School
Monarch Education is recruiting on behalf of a friendly, well‑established primary school in Chesterfield seeking a dedicated KS1 Teacher for a long-term placement starting in January 2026. This is a full-time role where you will take responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class, delivering high‑quality teaching and contributing to a positive and nurturing learning environment.
The school offers excellent support, including a collaborative KS1 team, clear behaviour policies, and access to strong planning resources to help you settle into the role with confidence.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess creative, well‑structured lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Take full responsibility for a KS1 class and ensure strong progress for all pupils
- Create a warm, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful atmosphere
- Work closely with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and wider school staff
- Contribute to ongoing assessments, parents’ meetings, and wider school life
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Recent experience teaching within KS1 in UK primary schools
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and age‑appropriate pedagogy
- Confident classroom and behaviour management
- A warm, enthusiastic and reliable approach to teaching
- Commitment to supporting the school’s values and pupils’ wellbeing
