Monarch Education is working in partnership with a range of specialist and mainstream schools across Redditch to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher. This role offers the opportunity to work across primary and secondary settings, supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs within inclusive and nurturing environments.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across primary and/or secondary age ranges
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, adapting teaching to meet individual learning styles
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Use a variety of strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Assess and track pupil progress, contributing to reviews and reports
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN in primary and/or secondary settings
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
  • Effective behaviour management and classroom strategies
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • Available to work full-time on a long-term basis

Desirable

  • Experience working in a specialist SEN school or alternative provision
  • Knowledge of SEMH, Autism, or complex needs
  • Understanding of EHCP processes and SEND frameworks
  • A flexible approach to working across different school settings and age groups
