Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a range of primary and secondary schools across Solihull to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with additional needs within inclusive, structured, and nurturing learning environments.

The Role

As a SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across primary and/or secondary settings
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Support pupils’ emotional regulation, communication, and social development
  • Use positive behavior management and de-escalation strategies
  • Assess and monitor progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN in primary and/or secondary settings
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiation
  • Effective behavior management strategies
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Available to work on a long-term basis

Desirable

  • Experience within a specialist SEN setting or alternative provision
  • Knowledge of SEMH, Autism, or other complex needs
  • Understanding of EHCP processes and SEND frameworks
  • Flexibility to work across different key stages and school settings
