Monarch Education is working with a primary school in Kings Heath to recruit a Year 5 Teacher for a full-time position.

This role involves taking full responsibility for a Year 5 class, including planning, teaching and assessing in line with the national curriculum. The school is looking for someone who can deliver clear and structured lessons and support pupils as they progress through upper Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons for a Year 5 class
  • Teach across the full primary curriculum in line with national expectations
  • Prepare pupils for Key Stage 2 outcomes and progression
  • Assess, record and report on pupil progress
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policy
  • Work closely with year group colleagues and support staff
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

Requirements

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally within KS2
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum
  • Confident in planning and delivering lessons independently
  • Able to maintain a structured and focused classroom environment
