About Us:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in a welcoming primary school in Wantage, Oxfordshire. This role provides a unique blend of general classroom support as well as the chance to work 1-2-1 with children with special educational needs, making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall learning environment within the primary school. This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including general classroom assistance and providing tailored support to children with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of classroom activities and resources.
  • Work with individuals or small groups to provide targeted support.
  • Support children with special educational needs in their academic and social development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the school community.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement effective learning strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is advantageous but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work in various capacities within the school setting.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards inclusion and diversity.
