About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-2-1 support and assist with small groups of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) students at a secondary school in Nuneaton. This is a flexible, ad-hoc role ideal for individuals with a passion for supporting students’ educational and personal development.

As an Ad-Hoc Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students with varying needs achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1-2-1 support to SEND students, tailoring assistance to individual needs
• Work with small groups of SEND students, ensuring their understanding of the lesson material
• Support students with a variety of learning, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons and activities
• Promote inclusion and engagement in all activities, helping students build confidence
• Help with classroom management and create a positive, nurturing environment
• Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers
• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their development both academically and socially

About You:

• Experience working with SEND students in an educational setting (preferred)
• Patient, empathetic, and approachable with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A proactive and flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• An understanding of the specific needs and challenges faced by SEND students
• Ideally, a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), although this is not essential
