Teaching Assistant

Pay: £90-£110 per day

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm
About the Role
Monarch Education is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist SEN/Special Educational Needs setting in Derby. We have flexible opportunities available, including part-time, full-time, and day-to-day roles starting immediately.
Experience working in education or in support work with young children is essential. The ideal applicant will have experience working with children/young adults with a range of SEN including Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils in class and during interventions
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Encouraging pupil engagement and emotional regulation
- Delivering tailored support for children with additional needs
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people (in education, care, coaching, or support roles)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Understanding of EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum (desirable)
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
