We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who need additional support to thrive academically and socially.

About the Role

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support for pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social/emotional challenges.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning activities to meet pupils’ needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to boost confidence and progress.
  • Support pupils with personal care and emotional regulation where required.
  • Encourage independence and positive behaviour in line with school policies.

Requirements

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach to learning and behaviour management.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
