Monarch Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Oldham (OL9). This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and committed to making a lasting impact in the classroom.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide vital support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to engage in learning and develop essential skills. You will also assist with behaviour management and provide personal care when required, ensuring every child feels safe, supported and included.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offering tailored support to pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assisting with behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment
- Providing personal care in line with pupils’ individual needs
- Supporting the class teacher with daily activities, classroom organisation and learning resources
- Contributing to pupil assessments and progress records
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working with children with SEN
- Confident with behaviour management techniques
- Comfortable providing personal care
- A patient, reliable and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to commit fully to a full-time, long-term role
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed
