About the Role

Monarch Education is currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a delightful Year 1 class in one of our partnered primary schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years and KS1 education, enjoys working with young children, and is eager to make a positive impact in the classroom.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, support pupils with varying learning needs, and help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Year 1 teacher with daily classroom activities
• Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and progress
• Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
• Helping to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning space
• Supporting children with SEND when required
• Contributing to assessments and learning observations

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience working in a primary school or with children (paid or voluntary)
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A willingness to learn and support children across all ability levels
• An up-to-date DBS (or willingness to apply for one through Monarch Education)
