Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bilston to recruit a dedicated SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled practitioner to support primary-aged pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with class teachers, the school SENCO, and wider support staff to deliver tailored interventions and provide high-quality, one‑to‑one or small‑group support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND, including those with communication needs, social and emotional challenges, learning difficulties, or physical/medical needs.
  • Implement personalised learning strategies and structured interventions as directed by the SENCO or class teacher.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional well‑being, and independence.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of progress and liaise effectively with staff and parents where appropriate.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 12 weeks’ experience working in a UK school within the last 2 years.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A proactive, patient, and compassionate approach.
