Location: Northfield Birmingham
Contract: Long-term, Full-time Teaching Assistant (Monday-Friday)
Start Date: September 2026

Setting: SEN Resource Base within a mainstream school

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs? We’re looking for an enthusiastic SEN TA to join a welcoming and supportive SEN Resource Base from September on a long-term basis.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and specialist staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs. The role involves providing 1:1 and small‑group support, helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and thrive in their school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEND (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, learning difficulties)
• Providing tailored support based on individual EHCPs
• Assisting with adapted learning activities and interventions
• Helping pupils with social skills, emotional regulation, and communication
• Working collaboratively with teachers and external specialists
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
• Supporting with personal care if required (training can be provided)

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children with SEN (school or similar setting)
• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
