Monarch Education are working with a specialist SEND school in Coventry who are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The school supports children from Early Years through to Year 6, all of whom have an EHCP. Staff focus on delivering a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum that meets the individual needs of every pupil in a supportive and nurturing environment.

About the pupils

Students at the school have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Moderate to profound learning difficulties
  • Autism (ASC)
  • Epilepsy
  • Physical disabilities
  • Sensory impairments
  • Medical needs
  • Communication difficulties

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping deliver individual learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Supporting pupils with communication and engagement
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
  • Assisting with daily routines and sensory needs
  • Supporting personal care where required
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff

Essential:

  • Experience working with SEND or complex needs
  • A calm, patient and reliable approach
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to support younger pupils (EYFS – KS2)
  • Comfortable supporting personal care if needed
  • Available full-time on a long-term basis
