ARE YOU A LEVEL 3 QUALIFIED TEACHING ASSISTANT?

We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Qualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Handsworth (B20), working full-time within their dedicated resource base.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support a small group of pupils with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, and Global Developmental Delay across the full academic year.

About the role:

• Monday to Friday – Full time (term time only)
• Full academic year placement
• Based in Handsworth (B20)
• Working within a resource base setting
• Supporting a small group of pupils with additional needs
• Supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviour
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a resilient, compassionate, and dedicated individual who thrives in a SEND environment and can provide consistent support to pupils with additional needs.

You will:

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Childcare qualification (essential)
• Have recent SEND experience (within the last 2 years, with references)
• Have experience supporting pupils with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, or Global Delay
• Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner
• Be able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support learning on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Work effectively as part of a team within a structured resource base
• Be committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Be reliable, patient, and adaptable
• Ideally be local to the area or able to travel
