Monarch Education are seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Chesterfield from September 2026.

With increasing demand for SEN support in local schools, this is a great opportunity for candidates who can offer consistent, confident support to pupils with additional needs from the start of the academic year.

About the Role

You will provide support to pupils with Special Educational Needs on both a one to one and small group basis, helping them engage with learning, develop key skills and build confidence in the classroom.

A range of placements are available, including longer term roles and more flexible arrangements depending on your availability.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with SEN across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
Assist with adapted learning activities and structured support
Promote engagement, communication and positive behaviour
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN teams
Contribute to a safe and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

Experience working with SEN or SEND is essential
Experience supporting needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH is advantageous
Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build trust and maintain consistency
Background in education, care or youth support preferred
