Monarch Education are recruiting for an Alternative Provision Support Assistant to work within a specialist setting in the NG1 area, supporting pupils who require additional support to engage with education.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in SEN, SEMH, youth work, support work, behaviour mentoring, or care. The role involves building positive relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping students achieve both their educational and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours
- Building positive relationships and promoting engagement in learning
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
- Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A calm, resilient, and patient approach
- The ability to build trust and positive relationships
- Experience in education, youth work, support work, care, or similar settings
