Monarch Education is currently recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Stockport.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential. You’ll be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and build confidence both academically and socially.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech & Language Difficulties
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs
- Learning Difficulties
- Complex Needs
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND
- Delivering targeted interventions and small group work
- Supporting pupils’ learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing
- Implementing EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions
- Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning where required
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- Following safeguarding and school policies at all times
Essential Requirements
- Recent experience supporting children with SEND in a school, educational or care setting
- A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to supporting pupils with diverse needs
- Right to work in the UK
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- Experience working with ASC, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs
- Knowledge of EHCPs and intervention strategies
