Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Monarch Education are working with a mainstream secondary school in the PR2 area who is seeking a full time Teaching Assistant to join their school in 2024. The role is 5 days per week. Start date: February/ March 2024

The role would entail supporting the class Teacher and pupils. You will be responsible for working 1-1 with a pupil with special educational needs within and outside the classroom. You will work with the child during lesson times and break times, providing emotional support as well as academic. You will also support class teachers with classroom support where needed with general assisting duties.

The Role:

• Secondary School Teaching Assistant
• Hours approximately 8:30am – 3:30pm per day
• Term time only
• PR2 Fulwood Area
• £11.69 – £13.38 per hour earnings

Responsibilities:

• Providing support within the classroom
• Ensuring the pupil and pupils are engaged
• Adapting to the individual pupil’s needs
• Providing updates and feedback to senior members of staff

Individual profile:

• Previous experience working with children
• Attentive to needs of pupils
• Strong regard for pupil safety-and well being
• Caring, patient, and understanding
• Motivating with ability to engage pupils
• Good ability to manage behaviour
• Reliable and committed fully to each lesson assisted
