ESOL Tutor – Greater Manchester
Monarch Education is currently seeking qualified ESOL Tutors in the Greater Manchester area to work with young people who are new to the UK and not yet attending a mainstream school. Many of these learners are within the care system and have little or no English proficiency.
These face-to-face roles involve delivering tailored English language support to students aged 11-18. Your support will be crucial in helping them reach a level of English that allows them to successfully transition into an appropriate school placement.
Deliver 1:1 ESOL tuition to young people who are new to English, using creative and supportive strategies to build confidence and communication skills.
Work with learners from diverse backgrounds, many of whom have SEMH needs and limited formal education experience.
Provide face-to-face sessions, typically 10 hours per week per student, split over 4-5 days.
Support students’ integration into the UK education system through language development and cultural understanding.
Write weekly reports detailing attendance, topics covered, engagement, and progress.
Be able to start assignments at short notice-referrals can come in quickly, and a fast response is often required.
Work flexibly and independently, tailoring your approach to the individual learning pace and emotional needs of each student.
A recognised ESOL qualification (e.g. CELTA, TESOL, PGCE with ESOL, or equivalent).
Recent experience supporting young people with limited English-this could include teaching, tutoring, or mentoring in education or community settings.
Availability for face-to-face tuition (this role is not online) and capacity to start assignments at short notice.
A child workforce Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one with our assistance).
Ability to provide accurate, timely feedback and track pupil progress in a structured format.
