Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, is delighted to be working with primary school in Solihull to appoint an experienced Year 1 Teacher.
The school is seeking a confident practitioner with strong knowledge of Read Write Inc. phonics, excellent classroom practice, and outstanding behaviour‑management skills. This is a full-time, full‑responsibility role, including planning, assessment, and delivering high‑quality teaching to support pupils’ progress across Year 1.
The position will run from after Easter until the end of the summer term, with the potential to continue into the next academic year for the right candidate.
The school is NOT accepting ECT applications.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1, specifically Year 1.
- Have excellent working knowledge of Read Write Inc. (RWI) and be confident delivering high‑quality phonics sessions.
- Demonstrate exceptional behaviour‑management skills, creating a calm and engaging learning environment.
- Bring a warm, energetic, child‑centred approach, always striving for the best outcomes for every pupil.
- Be able to deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that meet curriculum expectations and support children’s academic and emotional development.
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, with strong communication and organisational skills.
- Show dedication, reliability, and a willingness to go the extra mile as part of a supportive school community.
