Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Location: Special School, Wantage

Start Date: September 2024

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: £90 – £100 per day (paid weekly)

Overview:

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a SEN Teaching Assistant at a special school in Wantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-2-1 support to children with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and ensure students are engaged and supported.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and contribute to the development of personalised learning strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support student development.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s educational and personal development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
