Teaching Assistant – SEND Support

Monarch Education is working in partnership with a Primary School in Central Birmingham to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting as soon as possible.
The school is seeking a reliable and experienced individual to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role involves working closely with children who require additional support with learning, behaviour, and personal care.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist with personal care and toileting needs
Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the school’s SENCO
Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to regular feedback and reporting
Person Specification
Applicants must:
Hold a recognised Teaching Assistant or education-related qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools)
Have previous experience working with children with SEND
Be confident providing personal care and toileting support
Demonstrate a calm, patient, and professional approach
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
