We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced Special Needs College in Bury. This is a full-time position, starting ASAP, offering a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 16-25 with a range of complex needs including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Promote independence and social development through engaging activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with SEN (in education, care, or voluntary settings).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
