Teaching Assistant – Birmingham (B32)

We are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support two boys on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis within a welcoming school in the B32 area. This is a full‑time, long‑term position starting ASAP, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils’ learning, engagement and personal development.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people in a school or similar educational environment (essential)
  • Experience working 1:1 or with pupils with additional learning, behavioural or pastoral needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Confidence in implementing behaviour strategies and promoting positive learning habits
  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
  • A commitment to inclusive support and helping pupils achieve their potential
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to two boys, adapting your approach to meet individual needs
  • Assist with classwork, differentiation and personalised learning activities
  • Promote engagement, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Help pupils manage routines, transitions and social interactions
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow learning plans
  • Ensure the learning environment remains safe, supportive and inclusive
  • Contribute to pupils’ academic, social and emotional progress
