Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist provision in Swindon to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or SEND specialist looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people. This is a long-term position starting in September, teaching students across a range of subjects whilst supporting their academic, social and emotional development.
The Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a broad curriculum, supporting students with SEMH needs to achieve both academically and personally. You will create a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils can build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subject areas
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs
- Develop positive relationships with pupils to support emotional wellbeing and engagement
- Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and external agencies
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, implementing targeted interventions where required
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and wider pastoral support plans
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with SEMH needs
- Ability to teach across a variety of subjects
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient and flexible approach to teaching
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their full potential
