Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and supportive primary school in North Manchester is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils who require additional support with their behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.

This Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, autism, ADHD, or additional learning needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.

* Help pupils develop positive relationships, confidence, and emotional regulation skills.

* Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.

* Work alongside teachers and the SEND team to implement tailored support plans.

* Encourage engagement in learning and improve classroom behaviour.

* Build positive relationships with pupils who require additional behaviour support.

* Act as a positive role model and trusted adult within the school.

We’re Looking For

* Experience as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, SEMH Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or Youth Worker.

* Experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour.

* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

* A calm, patient, and resilient approach.

* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning.

* A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
