Monarch Education are working with a secondary school in Northampton who are looking to appoint a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to support their teaching team.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with young people. A background in sport, coaching, or physical education is particularly advantageous, as it helps build strong classroom presence, behaviour management skills, and rapport with students.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff. You will be responsible for keeping students on task, managing behaviour, and ensuring a positive learning environment is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences
  • Deliver prepared lesson content
  • Maintain classroom discipline and engagement
  • Encourage students to complete their work
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, etc.)
  • A background in sport or coaching is highly desirable
  • Confident managing groups of students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable, organised, and reliable
  • Interested in education or pursuing a career in teaching
