English Lecturer – B31 – Immediate Start
Applications without a recognised English qualification and teaching qualification, alongside UK-based teaching experience (evidenced on your CV), will not be considered. We are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic English Lecturer to join a well-established college campus in B31. This is a temporary assignment offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful English department and support learners in developing their literacy, communication and academic skills.

Start Date: Immediate Start
Contract Type: Temporary Contract
Working Hours: 24 hours per week
Working Days: Monday – Thursday
Qualification Required: Must hold a degree in English (or a relevant subject) and a recognised teaching qualification
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A recognised teaching qualification and the ability to deliver English programmes
- A degree in English, English Language, English Literature or a relevant subject specialism
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language, Literature and Functional Skills English
- Experience delivering engaging classroom-based learning to post-16 learners
- The ability to engage, motivate and support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals
- Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive teaching and learning
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching that supports learner progress and achievement
- Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records
- Support learners of varying abilities and provide additional guidance where required
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, learner welfare and professional practice
