An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming and well-structured secondary school in Glastonbury. This long-term role, starting in September 2026, is ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about literature and language, and committed to helping students succeed across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role

You will be delivering engaging and well-planned English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students in developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills. The school’s structured approach ensures consistency, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality lessons and supporting student progress.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4 (up to GCSE level)
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, structured lessons
  • Support students in developing literacy, analytical, and communication skills
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and department development
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic achievement
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in English
  • Experience teaching up to GCSE level
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • A passion for teaching and student success
  • A proactive and organised approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
