The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature examinations where applicable.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Develop student’s reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills, fostering a love of English.
• Work collaboratively with the English department and pastoral teams to support student success.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental initiatives and wider school activities.

Essential Requirements
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND, e.g. autism, SEMH, physical or sensory needs
* Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, Makaton, ASD awareness) desirable
* Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
